Youth SRC Course – SURF RESCUE CERTIFICATE (April/May 2024)
This course provides participants with skills and knowledge of surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations and resuscitation to participate in lifesaving operations and act in the role of Water Safety Personnel.
Date – : 27 April – 5 May 2024 (17hrs Wet/Dry Training, 4hrs Wet/Dry Assessment)

Sat 27/4 am : 8a-12p Session [Beach am : Club Hall 10.30a – 2p]
Sun 28/4 am : 8a-12p Session [Beach am : Club Hall 10.30a – 12p]
Thur 3/5 : 6p-8p Session [Sorrento SLSC Club Hall]
Sat 4/5 am 8-12 Session / Mock [Beach am : Club Hall 10.30a – 12p]
Sun 5/5 am 8-12 Session: Recap + Assessment [Beach am : Club Hall 10.30a – 12p]
Compulsory: All sessions are compulsory. If you miss a session please note that the group is unable to stop and repeat content just for you. If you do miss a session you will be asked to defer to the next SRC Course / Assessment. Please do not sign up for the course if you already know you will not be able to attend all sessions. Thank you.
FAQ:
What is the pre-qual swim: Pre-qual swim is 200m in 5min or less.
Are there any other qualification swims: Yes, on assessment you will need to complete 100m Run / 100m Swim / 100m Run course in 5min. We will be practicing this during the course to make sure you are all comfortable with this.
Will I be required to attend all days of training?: Please see the above not on compulsory attendance. We have run courses in the past where we are advised midway through the course that they are unable to make a date. If you cannot commit to these compulsory dates, you will be asked to defer to the next available course. Hopefully, you can understand that with ~ 24 participants and limited trainers we need to keep moving the group, we cannot stop to do catchup training for individuals that miss sessions.
When will I be given access to the Online Training Portal?: This will be sent to you as soon as registration closes. If the course is closed earlier due to reaching max numbers, we will release these instructions and access earlier.
