SRC – SURF RESCUE CERTIFICATE (Feb 2024)
This course provides participants with skills and knowledge of surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations and resuscitation to participate in lifesaving operations and act in the role of Water Safety Personnel.
Date – : 5 -25 February 2024 (3 x DRY, 3 x WET Sessions 24hrs, 1 x WET & DRY Assessment)

Because of the expected mix of red caps and youth on this course and the heavy comp calendar for both groups in Feb we are looking at running the below. Please see the compulsory attendance requirements:
Mon, 5/2 Kick-Off / Intro / Theory / Patient Assessment 6-8pm (Sorrento Club Hall)
Sat, 10/2 WET & DRY Resus / Radio 7.30 – 1.30pm
Sun, 11/2 WET & DRY Resus / Radio 7.30 – 1.30pm
Mon, 12/2 DRY Intro / Theory / Resus 6-8pm (Sorrento Club Hall)
Sat, 17/2 WET & DRY Resus / Radio 7.30 – 1.30pm
Sun, 18/2 WET & DRY Resus / Radio 7.30 – 1.30pm
Mon, 19/2 DRY Assessment 6pm – Finish (Sorrento Club Hall)
Sat, 24/2 WET Mock 7.30 – 1.30pm
Sun, 25/2 WET Assessment (Full) 7.30 – 10.00am
Compulsory: 3 x Mon pm DRY Resus / Theory Sessions; Either 10/11 Feb OR 17/18 Feb or both, you cannot split this to 2 x Sat or 2 x Sun as we will be teaching different content on Sat and Sun; 1 x Mock Sat; 1 x Assessment ( 20-24hrs training)

FAQ:
What is the pre-qual swim: Pre-qual swim is 200m in 5min or less.
Are there any other qualification swims: Yes, on assessment you will need to complete 100m Run / 100m Swim / 100m Run course in 5min. We will be practicing this during the course to make sure you are all comfortable with this.
Will I be required to attend all days of training?: Please see the above not on compulsory attendance. We have run courses in the past where we are advised midway through the course that they are unable to make a date. If you cannot commit to these compulsory dates, you will be asked to defer to the next available course. Hopefully, you can understand that with ~ 25 participants and limited trainers we need to keep moving the group, we cannot stop to do catchup training for individuals that miss sessions.
When will I be given access to the Online Training Portal?: This will be sent to you as soon as registration closes on 2NDFEBRUARY. If the course is closed earlier due to reaching max numbers, we will release these instructions and access earlier.
