Position – Functions Supervisor

Overview – Opportunity to make a difference!
With a Club membership of 1800 this vital position will be responsible for the
successful operation of SSLSC bar, café and function business. Minimum 15 hours a
week with a requirement to be available Tuesdays for ordering and paperwork,
Wednesdays to operate the Club dinner and weekend work during the summer surf
season. Flexibility of hours will be required with the potential of significant increases in
hours during the surf season (Oct-March).

Job tasks and responsibilities

- Rostering of bar and kitchen staff and volunteers
- Ordering of bar and kitchen stock
- Carrying out monthly stocktakes
- Timesheet management
- Cash management
- Applying for liquor licence variations when required
- Ensuring supplier invoices are processed
- Ensuring function invoices are processed
- Dealing with function enquires
- Managing the booking diary
- Setting up of functions and club dinners
- Liaising with club members and various committees
- Assisting the Club Administrator

Skills and experience
- Has Responsible Service of Alcohol training and
preferably has completed an Approved Managers
course
- Catering supervisory experience
- Bar experience
- Function experience desirable
- Experience in ordering and managing stock
- Strong communicator
- Good computer skills
- Current and valid driver’s licence

This role will suit a self-starter who enjoys working with minimal supervision to develop
the club catering business, improving standards and service for its members.
