IRB Drivers Course

If you are interested in doing the IRB driver course, then please contact Jess to register your interest. This is an exciting and challenging course and is always great fun.

As per the training calendar we run 1 drivers course per year and it starts once the IRB racing season is finished. This year the course will start around end June. Typically the course runs for around 8 weeks. There will be 1 theory session (date to be determined) otherwise all session are practical hands on training. The exact times and days are to be finalised once we see who is interested and what their availability is. Running the course is contingent on getting enough interest to justify the effort.

Prerequisites are:

Financial member of Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club
Minimum of 17 years of age on the date of final assessment
Hold and be currently proficient in the SLSA awards: Bronze Medallion and IRB Crew Certificate
Have met the Marine Licensing requirements in Western Australia (Recreational Skipper Certificate) prior to assessment

If you already have your skippers ticket please advise Jess when you register. Otherwise we are currently investigating with slswa the best way to progress this requirement
