WE NEED YOU!!!! State Masters Competition – 3 March 2018 – Sorrento Beach

Come be part of a fantastic funfilled day with a little bit of competition thrown in , not like any competition you have been part of before.

State MASTERS Carnival is when all us old foggies (YES you can be part of this event if you are 30+ years of age) get together in an event that we all enjoy all season, and for many of us it will be the first time EVER they have been part of a surf carnival, so don’t let the title stop you from participating. For many it is the only time you get to flex your muscles and your bragging rights after training all year long.

There is still time to train (if you feel that way inclined) Masters Iron person training sessions have began 0630am every Sunday morning with Bill and Boot Camp starts next Sunday (21 January at 7am – only $2 to participate) if you want something slightly less exhausting. The Gym is available to ALL Bronze Medallion holders and you can get a fob from admin office so you can access the gym 24/7 (following gym ettiquette, policy and guidelines of course). Then there is the club swim every Sunday at 8:45am. The rest is up to YOU and of course there is the usual training sessions that occur everyday of the week. You could join Callum’s Board sessions on Wednesday nights and Skis sessions on Tues and Thursday mornings (at 0 dark hundred – 0530am) or Saturdays 0630 or Sundays at 7am with the lovely Leanne or I am sure that Andrew will welcome you into one of the designated Masters swim sessions also, their numbers are on the board in the boat shed if you have any questions on training.

If you can run (a bit or well), swim (abit or well) or enjoy paddling a ski or board (abit or are a champion) then sign on up, you will be an integral member of a team, and if not, you can go in the individual events, its up to you how many events you want to go in, there is NO pressure from anyone, (ok there maybe a bi in the men’s arena)…..certainly not under the ladies tent, we are all very supportive of one another, lots of laughs and snacks…all day long and then you get to share your adventure stories at the “after party”.

So please, put your name on the competiton notice board in the boat shed (or email admin@sorrentoslsc.org.au) and don’t forget to submit your age, event and contact email, then in the week prior to the competion a Masters meeting will be held at the club to finalise teams and set up for the day.

So, if you have your Bronze Medallion (even if only gained this season) and you have done at least 16 hours patrol by end December (or pro rata – for new bronze holders) then you are eligible to participate in this fabulous event which is being held ON OUR OWN BEACH.
